The newly elected committee of IBFB met the Honorable Finance Minister Mr. Abul Maal A. Muhith, MP, at his Secretariat Office Today. The delegation of IBFB led by the President of IBFB and Managing Director & CEO, Energypac Power Generation Ltd. Mr. Humayun Rashid, accompanied by Mr. Mahmudul Islam Chowdhury, Founding President, IBFB, Chairman, Khan Bahadur Group, Mr. M.S. Siddiqui, Vice President, IBFB, Legal Economist & CEO, Bangla Chemical, Ms. Lutfunnisa Saudia Khan, Vice President Finance, IBFB, Director, Banglaphone, Commlink Infotech Limited & Communication Access Ltd., Mr. Syed Mustafizur Rahman, Director, IBFB & Managing Director, Novo Cargo Services Ltd., Dr. Md. Mozibur Rahman Director, IBFB, Former Secretary to the Govt. & Managing Director, Runner Oil & Gas Ltd., Mr. Mohammad Ali Deen, Director, IBFB, & Chairman, M/S Deen Impex, Dr. Md. Ali Afzal, Director, IBFB & Managing Director, Krishibid Group,  Dr. Muhammad Abdul Mazid, Director, IBFB, Former Secretary and Chairman, NBR, Dr. A.F.M. Matiur Rahman, Director, IBFB, Former Secretary to the Govt. were present at the meeting.





IBFB President said that the economic growth of the country is satisfactory because of the substantial steps and policy taken by the government. He thanked the Honorable  Finance Minister & also the honorable Prime Minister for strengthening the foundation of the economy. He mentioned that Bangladesh has qualified and graduated to a developing country from an LDC. We need to strengthen our capacity to continue the current economic growth and keep review our policy and plan accordingly. This is a big achievement for the government. 




He placed some proposals of which few are as follows: 
•TAX-GDP ratio should be increased from 10% to 20% by enhancing Tax Net and TAX paying system should be easier.
•Ease of Doing Business situation of Bangladesh should be improved. Immediate initiative should be taken specially to ease land registration, Electricity connection, Credit availability.  
•Immediate actions should be taken to develop advanced & appropriate educational system, creating facility to build skilled manpower to reduce the dependence on overseas manpower, so that we can keep our currency here. 
•To take effective measures and proper policy to make all the ports more efficient.
•Except RMG sector more export sector should be identified and necessary step has to be taken to develop those sectors and incentive can be given.
•Tax rebate can be considered for the investment in research and development of Industries.  
•Willful and non willful defaulters should be identified and action can be taken accordingly.
   
On behalf of the Delegation IBFB President expressed his heartiest gratitude to honorable Finance Minister for giving a time slot to IBFB Delegation in spite of his busy schedule. 




The Honorable Finance Minister Mr. Abul Maal A. Muhith, MP opined that the government has taken some initiatives to develop the logistics sector to minimize the time for export and import. His ministry is acting to widen the Tax Net.
