IBFB Delegation met with hon'ble Commerce Minister of 14 February, 2019 at his Secretariat Office

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, MP said, reducing corruption from all spheres in this country is one of the top most priorities of the present Govt. The Hon. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given the highest priority in reducing corruption. In addition, ease of doing business is another priority of the Govt., for which Commerce Ministry in will immediately work together with BIDA and concerned other agencies. He was talking in a meeting with the leaders of International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) held on Thursday 14 Feb 2019 at the seminar room of the Commerce Ministry.

 

On behalf of the association, IBFB President Humayun Rashid proposed several suggestions to the Commerce Minister for establishing a sustainable business environment in the country. Improving ease of doing business, reducing complexities for local and foreign direct investment, lowering down bank interest rate a single digit, strengthening capacities of EPB, a permanent place for trade fairs, emphasizing on light/heavy engineering and electronics industry etc. are some of the suggestions placed.

 

Among others, IBFB’s Founding President Mahmudul Islam Chowdhury, Immediate Past President & Chairman of Runner Group Hafizur Rahman Khan, Vice President MS Siddiqui, Vice President (Finance) Lutfunnisa Saudia Khan, former Tariff Commission Chairman Dr. Mozibur Rahman, former NBR Chairman Dr. Abdul Mazid etc. were also present in the meeting.
