International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) started its advocacy works from Chittagong. As a process, a discussion session on Trade and Investment with European Union was organized in Chittagong on February 11, 2007 where the Ambassador of the European Union Mr.
Stefaan Frowein spoke as key note speaker. This was the first public business advocacy event for IBFB. The objective of organizing such an event was to give an overview on the trade and investment opportunities with European Union as well as to link the Bangladeshi entrepreneurs/business peoples with the European Union business arena. The event also created a platform for the Bangladeshi businessman to place their rationale to attract more investment from the EU in different lucrative sectors where Bangladesh is enjoying competitive advantage.Chaired by the IBFB President Mahmudul Islam Chowdhury, the discussion meeting was also attended by the leading business peoples from Chittagong, Government high officials, economic journalists, economic think tanks, diplomats, local chamber leaders and many more.
